Hey there! I’m excited to share a bit about my journey as a junior designer specializing in UX/UI.
I initially studied software engineering but found my passion for digital design. After moving to Canada, I worked for three years at a currency exchange while trying to enter the tech industry. I had some knowledge of UX from university, so I completed a bootcamp to improve my skills and explored resources like Udemy, YouTube, and LinkedIn to learn about the important role of UX/UI in the digital world.
Working at a currency exchange in a fast-paced environment helped me develop strong communication skills for product sales. I learned to be an attentive listener, helping me understand different customer needs, even when language barriers sometimes came up. My attention to detail was also key in organizing information correctly and reporting to the government as an administrative agent.
Currently, I work part-time as a Playground Supervisor and Childcare Educator in an elementary school. In this role, I face daily challenges with children who may not speak the same language or have special needs, like ADHD and autism. I focus on creating a calm and supportive environment for them. I often need to iterate and improve my approach based on the diverse needs of the children. This experience has helped me understand accessibility in UX design and improved my patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family. However, since discovering UX, I’ve developed new hobbies, like exploring digital products to understand them better and using Figma to bring my ideas to life.
Thanks for reading my journey! I’m always eager to connect and collaborate, so feel free to reach out on LinkedIn or Email. Looking forward to hearing from you!
